Pave Split Shank
Pave bands sparkled in 2016. For next year, we’re predicting a contemporary take. There’s something so delicate and modern about a split shank (when the band splits in two as it intersects with the diamond). Specific? Sure. Stunning? Without a doubt.

Is this not one of the most magnificent rings you’ve ever seen? We love the warm, femininity of rose gold. The delicate diamond-studded split shank spotlights round cut diamond center stone in all of its sparkling glory.

Opals
Opals are a dreamy alternative to a diamond. This stunning stone has a rather mystical quality, which can be attributed to its "play of color" (the rainbow of hues that flash when the stone catches the light). More than just prized for their unique beauty, opals are associated with love and loyalty requisite qualities of a long, successful marriage.

This spectacular ring centers a vaulted, rectangular opal cabochon, flanked by a row of champagne diamonds and inverted trillions at each edge. And yes, we’d say this counts as your “something blue.”

Stacks
Stacked rings have been popular among boho brides for the last few years. Come 2017, we predict brides everywhere will be saying “I do” to stacks. Don’t be surprised if your Instagram and Pinterest feeds are filled with digits adorned with pairs, trios and quadruples of blingy bands. After all, who doesn’t want a little extra sparkle on their ring finger?

We love this timeless trilogy of white diamonds and rose, white and yellow gold rings. This old European cut diamond design comes complete with a pair of breathtaking nesting bands, but that doesn’t mean you can’t mix it up and layer on your own bling over the years.

Black Diamonds
Want a surefire way to guarantee your bling stands out from the crowd? Consider a black diamond. Many non traditional brides are drawn to the edgier look of a dark stone. Beyond their visual appearance, black diamonds are associated with certainty and passion making them a symbolic choice for your engagement ring.

This geometric design wows with a princess cut inverted black diamond, enhanced with black to white gradient diamond pave accents. The recycled 14k yellow gold band is detailed with a chevron pattern.

Rubies
There’s something so utterly romantic about a gorgeous red ruby. Not surprisingly, they are considered the ultimate symbol of passionate love and known as the “gem of the heart.” Those with a vintage sensibility will treasure an antique ring, while modern brides can opt for a newly made design.

Have you ever seen anything more regal than this authentic Victorian era ring? A pinkish-red round ruby is accented by a halo of seven old mine-cut diamonds. This beauty is finished with a simple, slightly 14k rose gold tapered band.
